The Prince William Health District (PWHD) runs multiple programs to protect and improve the health and well-being of its residents.

Services provided include:

Immunizations

high-risk, routine maternity care

environmental health services, including inspections of restaurants and swimming pools

family planning services

confidential diagnosis, treatment and counseling for sexually transmitted diseases

tuberculin test and chest X-ray for diagnosis

confidential HIV testing and early intervention services

dental services for adults (60+ years) and children

nutritional education and food stamps for women, babies and children (WIC) customers

processing birth and death certificates and investigating notifiable diseases

Obamacare purchased from the Health Care Marketplaces covers Mental Health Care and Substance Use Disorder Treatment. Under the Health Care Law there are 10 categories of benefits. Mental Health Care and Substance Abuse Treatment are two of the 10.
