About Center City Health Center
This is a not a free clinic; it is a low cost clinic for Primary Care, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy.
This office accepts most insurance and TennCare plans and offers flexible payment schedules because they do not think money should ever stand in the way of your health care.
Adult Primary Care
Knox County Health Department has partnered with Cherokee Health Systems to provide adult primary care medical services. Patients will receive medical care at Cherokee Health's Center City offices at 2018 Western Avenue in Knoxville. (Directions are provided below.)
Cherokee's services include medical care, social services, mental health services and prescriptions.
Important Note to our indigent care clients: The services you receive through the Indigent Care Program will not change. You will still have to qualify through Knox County Social Services Department, but you can do that at Cherokee Health Systems. If you have any questions, please call (865) 215-5400.

Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) Insurance Coverage For Mental Health
Obamacare purchased from the Health Care Marketplaces covers Mental Health Care and Substance Use Disorder Treatment. Under the Health Care Law there are 10 categories of benefits. Mental Health Care and Substance Abuse Treatment are two of the 10.
If you have Affordable Care Act Coverage you will have mental health care coverage.
