About Transitional Services for New York

Transitional Services for New York, Inc. (TSINY) is a not for profit multi-faceted mental health corporation which, in contract with New York City and the State of New York, provides community based services to individuals recovering from mental illness. TSINY admitted its first clients for residential services in 1975 and currently serves over 4000 individuals annually.

Transitional Services for New York, Inc. is a comprehensive, community-based mental health organization located in New York City. We provide a continuum of rehabilitative services to enrich the lives of those recovering from mental illness and facilitate their transition to increased levels of independence.

Medicare

Transitional Services for New York accepts Medicare, a federal health insurance program for people age 65 and older and people with disabilities.

Medicare covers a wide range of mental health services.

Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) covers inpatient mental health care services you get in a hospital. Part A covers your room, meals, nursing care, and other related services and supplies.

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) helps cover mental health services that you would generally get outside of a hospital, including visits with a psychiatrist or other doctor, visits with a clinical psychologist or clinical social worker, and lab tests ordered by your doctor.
