The Union County Health Department offers many free or reduced cost medical services through our clinics. Most services are by appointment only. Appointments can be made at (937) 642-2053. Most services are for residents of Union County. 

Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH) - BCMH links families of children with special health care needs to a network of quality providers and helps families obtain payment for the services their children need.

Child Development Specialists - Provide free developmental screenings for children birth to five. Also connect parents to developmental resources. 

Eye Glass Assistance - Provides eye glasses to school aged children in need.

Immunization Clinic - Required and recommended immunizations available for children and adults at no cost, reduced cost, or sliding-fee scale. Many child immunizations are free or at reduced cost.

Newborn Home Visiting - Free, one-time home visit by a nurse. Service available to all Union County familes with an infant age 12 weeks or less.

Prenatal Clinic - Comprehensive prenatal care for expecting mothers who are uninsured or on Medicaid.

Prescription Assistance - Provides financial assistance for prescription medications for treatment of chronic health conditions, mental health conditions, and more.  

Sexual Health Clinic - Provides free and reduced cost reproductive health services such as STD testing (HIV, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea), annual exams (pap smears, colorectal, etc.), pregnancy testing, birth control, and healthy pregnancy planning. Clinic is for men and women.

Sliding Scale

Union County Health Department operates under a sliding fee scale payment model. What this means to you is that Union County Health Department provides their services even to patients who cannot afford care (such as low-income or who people who need to self-pay). Patients will pay according to their income. Be prepared to provide information on your household income.

Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) Insurance Coverage For Mental Health

Obamacare purchased from the Health Care Marketplaces covers Mental Health Care and Substance Use Disorder Treatment. Under the Health Care Law there are 10 categories of benefits. Mental Health Care and Substance Abuse Treatment are two of the 10.

If you have Affordable Care Act Coverage you will have mental health care coverage.
