About Wake County Human Services

Mission Statement: Wake County Human Services, in partnership with the community, will anticipate and respond to the public health, behavioral health and the economic and social needs of Wake County residents. We will coordinate and sustain efforts that assure safety, equity, access and well-being for all.

Wake County Human Services is the consolidation of programs and services including social services, public health, mental health, job training, child support, housing and transportation.

They offer a Sliding Fee Discount Program that assists patients who experience difficulty affording primary medical care. Discounts are based on family size and household income.

Obamacare purchased from the Health Care Marketplaces covers Mental Health Care and Substance Use Disorder Treatment. Under the Health Care Law there are 10 categories of benefits. Mental Health Care and Substance Abuse Treatment are two of the 10.
