How can I pay for my medical care?
We require all medical services to be paid for at the time of service.   We accept credit cards, debit cards, cash and checks.  We also have a payment plan for those who need to pay for services over several months.
Do I qualify for any financial assistance?
You may qualify for financial assistance based on your income level.   We can determine this at the time of your visit.
I received a bill and have a question, what do I do?
Please call the Billing Department at (707) 559-7677.
Where can i make a payment?
If you'd like to make a payment, our staff is happy to assist you at the Welcome Desk.  If you need to speak to someone in the billing department, please call (707) 559-7677.  If your billing matters cannot be solved on the phone, you can speak to a representative in person at the Financial Services Office located just down the street from the Main Center:

Upon entering the building, Suite 250 is up the stairs on the right hand side. Look for the Petaluma Health Center sign outside of the office.

What are the fees for various procedures?
Fees vary depending on the services provider.

What is Sliding Scale?
Sliding Scale is a discount program offered to patients based on their income levels.
All patients who qualify for this program are expected to apply for Medi-Cal insurance within 90 days.
I can not afford my prescription, what can I do?
We have a Patient Assistance Program that helps patients who are unable to afford the full cost of medications.
Your provider of care may refer you to this program based on need and income level.

The Petaluma Health Center if a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that accomplishes its mission through collaborative, innovative programs, services and referral resources to meet the economic needs of the entire community.

We offer family medical care, obstetrics & gynecology, family centered birthing, mental & behavioral health, integrative medicine, dental services and more to residents of Petaluma, Penngrove, Cotati, Rohnert Park and the surrounding areas. Our total service area is approximately 120,000 people. We are organized as a private, non profit corporation and governed by a consumer and community led Board of Directors.

Family HealthCare Network is a private, non-profit community-based organization.

Federally Qualified Health Center
FQHCs are community-based organizations that provide comprehensive primary care and preventive care, including health, oral, and mental health/substance abuse services to persons of all ages, regardless of their ability to pay or health insurance status.

A medical provider is available by phone to take your urgent call seven days a week.  Call the main number and asked to be connected to the provider on call, (707) 559-7500.

Sliding Scale

Petaluma Health Center operates under a sliding fee scale payment model. What this means to you is that Petaluma Health Center provides their services even to patients who cannot afford care (such as low-income or who people who need to self-pay). Patients will pay according to their income. Be prepared to provide information on your household income.

Obamacare purchased from the Health Care Marketplaces covers Mental Health Care and Substance Use Disorder Treatment. Under the Health Care Law there are 10 categories of benefits. Mental Health Care and Substance Abuse Treatment are two of the 10.

If you have Affordable Care Act Coverage you will have mental health care coverage.
